Hi! I am Diana Partington, LPC-MHSP (all those letters mean I am a licensed mental health therapist.)
And I love teaching DBT skills to people who have been struggling with overwhelming emotions. DBT is so amazing!
If you embark on this journey with me, you will learn over a 100 skills that are so effective!
And there is tons of scholarly research to back that up–DBT is helpful for depression, bipolar disorder, substance use disorder, eating disorders, issues with suicide and self harm, and borderline personality disorder.
The foundation of this kind of therapy is learning new skills for dealing with your feelings, changing how you behave, managing your relationships more effectively, breaking out of the cycle of never ending crisis.
Please do reach out, I would love the opportunity to explore how DBT can be helpful for you. We can get started with sending me an email at sufferingoptional@yahoo.com –let me know who you are and a little bit about what you need.
In the meanwhile, please get to know me a little bit. Explore this website for tons of insight into Dialectical Behavior therapy and how I teach skills.
There are so many resources here for your DBT skills journey. These skills are an amazing toolbox for overcoming the challenges of being an emotionally sensitive person.
The menu will guide you to more information about me, about groups (even sample notes from groups to give you a sense of how I teach) and working with me doing full DBT.
On my homepage, I offer three types of posts:
Explore Skills offer straight forward discussion of a particular DBT skill.
DBT Stories introduce a skill and then illustrate it with a story demonstrating effective skills use. Please note these stories include trigger warnings. Often skills are used in very distressing situations.
Beyond DBT dives deep into a DBT skill by reflecting on the work of other psychologists and thinkers.
